Connect Claude to Skybox

Skybox connects to Claude through OAuth: Claude sends you to Skybox to sign in, you choose what it may reach, and Claude receives a token for exactly that. The steps are the same for Claude.ai in the browser and for the Claude Desktop app; Claude Code uses a command instead.

You need a Skybox account on the Pro plan (or an account on a Skybox Enterprise instance). The connector's address is:

https://api.skyboxmail.de/mcp

On a Skybox Enterprise instance, replace the host with your instance's API address. Your administrator knows it; it is the address the Skybox apps talk to.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

  1. Open Settings → Connectors in Claude.
  2. If Skybox is listed in the connector directory, choose it there. Otherwise choose Add custom connector, enter the address above and confirm. Claude needs no client ID or secret; Skybox registers the client itself.
  3. Press Connect. A browser window opens on Skybox.
  4. Sign in to Skybox if you are not already signed in. Two-factor authentication applies as usual.
  5. The authorization screen names the app (Claude) and lists what it is asking for: mail, calendar, contacts, or a combination. Below that are your accounts, one checkbox each, grouped by kind. Untick any account Claude should not see. The selection can be changed later.
  6. Optionally give the connection a name, for example Claude on the work laptop. It tells this connection apart from another one in your settings.
  7. Press Allow. You are returned to Claude, and the connector shows as connected.

Claude asks for confirmation the first time it uses a tool from a connector. When the tool does something you want Claude to do routinely, allow it for the chat.

Claude Code

sh
claude mcp add --transport http skybox https://api.skyboxmail.de/mcp

The first call opens the same authorization screen in your browser. Claude Code stores the token for this machine; claude mcp remove skybox forgets it.

Afterwards

  • The connection appears in Skybox under Settings → Connected Apps, with the name you gave it, the permissions it holds and the accounts it may reach.
  • To change the accounts, open the entry and choose Account Access. The change applies to Claude's next request; nothing needs to be reconnected.
  • To end the connection, choose Revoke there, or remove the connector in Claude. Either is enough: a revoked connection stops working at once, and the connector in Claude then asks to be connected again.

Several Skybox accounts

Each connection belongs to the Skybox user who signed in on the authorization screen. To let Claude reach a second Skybox account, add the connector a second time and sign in as that user. The optional name on the authorization screen is for exactly this case.
